Kadai Beads assist your Firebowl keep heat for longer, prevents the ground beneath it from burning, and protects the bowl. They also bring the charcoal level closer to the grill and, more crucially, filter any rainwater. 
 
For a Travel Kadai and 50cm bowls, we recommend 2.5 litres.
