From next year we will be providing a new service of masterclass cooking courses with a range of different foods and cooking methods available for you to try.
Our cooking courses at Heart Smoke & Soal have one goal and that is to teach you how to become a confident, more intuitive cook with alfresco cooking. In other words, to help you take your eyes off the recipe and trust your instincts. Many of our dishes and skills are transferable whether this is outdoor cooking or in the comfort of your indoor kitchen. Let's learn skills and techniques to delight your friends and family.
Nothing can beat that sensory experience when you smell, see and taste with outdoor cooked food, for us Barbecued food and cooking alfresco is all about the experience.We run homely and relaxed cooking experiences where you can gain new skills and at the same time share some fun with family & friends, connect with other like minded people or celebrate a special occasion.
The first of the cooking masterclasses we offer is the 'Wood-fired Oven Master Class'. For this class you will spend the day cooking in an Alfa and Delivita wood-fired oven. We will teach you how to get the best out of your oven and cooking a wide range of dishes which of course you will be able to eat.
Of course you can cook amazing pizzas on wood-fired ovens but there's so much more you can cook on them. Our courses are not demonstrations: you will be hosted by our own barbecue chefs, who will make sure you are “hands-on”, creating delicious food that you can replicate at home. This masterclass will offer a hands-on experience and include all the ingredients, equipment, including aprons, refreshments throughout the day and recipes to take home and replicate.
The type of dishes you will make making:
We will break during the day for 45 minutes - 1 hour to enjoy eating your food with wine or a Gin form our famous drinks trolley!
Next up and this is relevant to current season were in an Autumn/winter warmers, alfresco style masterclass. Are you wondering what to cook up with all your autumn produce? Not to worry we are here on hand to help you come up with some great ideas of what dishes you can create.
This masterclass will offer a hands-on experience and include all the ingredients, equipment, including aprons, refreshments throughout the day and recipes to take home and replicate.
You will get to try new and exciting flavours thanks to the introduction of various types of Woods, Charcoal, Gas and the many rubs and sauces in which we stock.
Or if the previous courses don't fancy you, come and join us on a Saturday morning and enjoy a freshly sourced and cooked breakfast with all the trimmings you could want. Have you ever cooked your whole Breakfast on the BBQ? Cooking a Full English is one of our favourite things. You can also cook your fried eggs and roasted tomatoes on a BBQ, which is not something everyone knows, but trust us, it takes your BBQ breakfast to the next level!
You'll also be able to enjoy a lovely warm hot chocolate that will have be warmed over the coals. This is a brilliant chance to fill up on breakfast dishes cooked in an alfresco manner whist asking any questions on the equipment and accessories used. Make sure you come hungry!
If you're looking for a fish based masterclass not to worry we have that covered for you as well. Working with whole fish and seafood can be quite intimidating—and quite rewarding. In this very hands-on class, you'll learn how to choose and clean seafood; properly use a knife to fillet a whole fish. Learn how to get the best of your fish when cooked on the grill, baked or steamed. Cooking any fish dish alfresco style is such a treat. Fish lends itself very well to open fire cooking whether this is on the grill or a broth in a dutch oven.
You will be cooking various fish dishes depending what is in season, these will include some fish and shellfish such as, Hake, Sole, Mackerel, Salmon, pollock, squid, mussels scollops etc.
We will also teach you how to get the best from your fire-bowl for cooking and relaxing around the open fire. We will take you through the most popular accessories and what dishes work best. With tricks of the trade. Kadai pride themselves on the shear number of accessories they have, so let's get hands on with these. Throughout the day we will cook, meat, fish and vegetable dishes. You definitely won't leave hungry!
Finally, we also offer a private bespoke cooking course where we can tailor anything to suit you needs and requirements. Is there an alfresco dish you have always wanted to learn or flavours you have been wanting to replicate, then our experts can take you through this. Learn the skills and feel confident to cook for your guests.
